Of the huge variety of drugs out there cannabis has often been documented as related in some way to schizophrenia. Whether schizophrenia is controlled through the use of cannabis, or increased has often been less certain.

Cannabis has, through medical research, been found to increase the risk of developing schizophrenia to double that of non-users, and even higher a risk when the users families have had a past history of schizophrenia.

Use of cannabis has also been seen to further the chances of a panic attack symptom , suicide and/ or hospitalization if prevalent in the beginning stages of the mental disease. In terms of treatment for cannabis addiction, more often than not both the addiction and the schizophrenia need to be simultaneously looked at. As younger members of society latch onto cannabis at the very least further rises in teenage anxiety levels look increasingly likely.
