I was chatting with a friend online today and my heart goes out to him badly. He and his wife have been trying to have a baby for two years now and nothing yet. They have been in to recieve fertility help but they have had no success and the costs of visiting the fertiltiy clinic and doctors is adding up. The really sad part is his wife is enterd a depression and she is questioning of whether or not she wants to be married to my friend anymore.

Sadly this is somewhat common, not necessarily with not being able to get pregnant, but in general when depression hits. I have a couple family members with bi-polar and they have each been married 2 plus times. When the depression hits you feel like it is everything around you causing the issues and if you can escape your surroundings and find a new environment then things will be better. Depression often causes divorce, affairs, job loss, running away and the ultimate escape suicide (which of course is no escape at all).

My suggestion for my friend is to pray for God’s hand in his marriage, for his wife’s heart to submit to God’s will in thier marriage and also for them to seek marital counsel. Having a third party marriage counsellor to listen and be nuetral can drastically improve any marriage.

Talk to you soon.
