Mr. Right may not exist in the eyes of most people but Mr. Right does exist in the fantasies of many young girls. The idea of Mr. Right must exist or young girls wouldn’t spend so much time daydreaming of the ideal man. Furthermore, the young girl fantasy of Mr. Right would certainly cut down on the idea of marriages and eternal bliss.

By the time a young girl reaches her junior or senior year of high school, she already has a pretty good idea of what her Mr. Right looks like and she knows basically how her Mr. Right would act, dress and even treat her. However, the fantasies that many young girls dream up often are straight from the tube, and more specifically, straight from the soap operas of the day. Unfortunately ladies, those Mr. Rights, do not exist. The champagne flights to Paris on a whim are few and far between and the guys who have the money to do it would likely look a whole lot like Donald Trump and not George Clooney.

Still, marriage will become a focus to many girls by the time they are half way through college and if the young lady has a parent who is sold on the idea of marriage, then the young girl will likely find that she is caught up in the dream of marrying Mr. Right. Some of these girls will likely talk themselves into believing at some point that they have indeed, found Mr. Right. Some, of course, will find that Mr. Right does not exist and perhaps waste a great deal of time on the idea only to discover that they will never marry or find the guy called Mr. Right.

Cosmo and Glamour would have many young women thinking that their lives will not be complete without Mr. Right and GQ would second that opinion by flashing daring men across the cover of their magazines. However, the girls and young women who keep men off their brain are likely to find happiness and Mr. Right far quicker than the girl in search of a romance novel lifestyle. These girls will never find the Val Kilmer look alike and they will never find the Brad Pitt of their dreams because they will try too hard.

Parents need to learn to keep their daughters involved in sports and other activities so that if and when the time comes for their daughter to find a mate, they aren’t easily impressed or overly disappointed because of expectations of the Mr. Right phenomenon. They won’t care if he has a hair out of place and won’t notice that he is only the apple of their young eye instead of a sex symbol to all. If a girl doesn’t focus too much too soon on marrying Mr. Right, then when he finally comes along, she won’t be disappointed when her Mr. Right doesn’t look like Brad Pitt.

The secret to marrying Mr. Right is to not expect it and to remain true to what you want and not what so many teen magazines and young adult women magazines tell the girls they want. If you are true to you, then you’ll likely be ready for a true relationship. Marriage is tough and the only way to find the right Mr. Right is to be the Mrs. Right of his dreams too. Believe it or not, his ideal woman probably looked a lot like Brittney Spears at some point and time during his earliest day dreams of the right woman. However, the two of you can be a happy couple if you focus on your attributes and leave the bigger and better attributes to the people who can pay a lot of money to have them!
